I was born in 1951 in Waukesha, Wisconsin. My father was a college art professor and former graduate student of Grant Wood (“American Gothic”). I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University if Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 1973 and a Master of Fine Arts degree in printmaking from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign in 1977. I am currently an Associate Professor in the School of Art and Design at the University of Illinois, Urbana/Champaign.
